The Hoarding Is Up!
Posted on June 9th, 2015

We would just like to start with another huge thank you to the people of the Heatons and beyond! We are over the moon to have over 500 Savoy members! As well as being extremely humbled by your belief in the project, we are all so excited that we get to put every penny straight into the refurbishment, which allows us to upgrade our fixtures and fittings even further than before.
This week has seen the hoarding go up around the Savoy. Contrary to popular belief; we are not trying to hide our tea drinking and biscuit eating! We have made the area safe for all passers by and it also allows us to keep a few secrets and show some nice surprises at our opening!
We have had a busy week and a lot of our efforts have been focused on the toilets!
At both the Ritz and the Regal, one of the most common compliments we receive is not our sofas for two, vast array of cinema goodies, homemade cakes or luxurious seating but our loos! So we are keen to make the Savoy’s just as great!
We have removed all of the existing cubicles, tiles and sanitary ware, which has allowed us to see the full space we have to work with. We are looking to reduce the number of cubicles and sinks to give them a luxurious, spacious feel.
We have also finalised the plans for the foyer and Louis has been hard at work, knocking down the internal walls, to open up the foyer as much as possible. This will make space for a larger seating area to relax in, before you make your way through to the auditorium!
After scouring the country, we now have enough genuine Art Deco shell lights for both the auditorium and foyer and we hope that they give you an insight into our Art Deco vision for the cinema.
Another quick reminder that we will be attending the Heatons Festival this weekend! And we hope to meet some of our new members! We will be showcasing some pictures of our other cinemas, to give you more of an idea of what we do! We will also be on hand to answer any questions you have about the refurbishment or our plans for the cinema. We are looking forward to meeting you!
